National Firefighters Ski Race
Prepare yourself for a five-alarm frenzy in the dead of winter. No, it's not a fire - it's the annual Firefighters Ski Race. The highlight of the week is the fast-paced and often chaotic hose race, where firefighters, each wearing full turnout protective gear, ski down a slalom course linked together carrying a 50-foot length of 2 ½ inch hose through the racecourse. Other obstacles along the way challenged the firefighter teams before they crossed the finish line.

Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill
It all began 36 years ago when Billy Kidd, Steamboat’s Director of Skiing, and Larry Mahan, six-time All-Around World Champion cowboy, decided to invite a few of the ProRodeo stars to Steamboat for a day of skiing. The cowboys had such a great time that the Downhill has become the most popular event of the season with over 100 of the best professional rodeo cowboys competing in the most unique ski rodeo in the country.

Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival
Witness the longest-running winter sports festival west of the Mississippi! For several days, the entire town is given over to racing, ski jumping, chariot racing, a parade featuring Steamboat’s skiing high school band (the only one in the United States), the famous ski jöring events down Lincoln Avenue, and the spectacular night show featuring the legendary Lighted Man & fireworks display.

Annual Women's Ski Camp
All programs include breakfast at Stoker on day one, lunch at Hazie’s daily, First Tracks on the second and third days, a technical equipment session on day one and culminate with a social cocktail gathering on the last day. Participants also enjoy a variety of special deals and gifts. The camps are geared for intermediate and above skiers, levels 5-8. Camps run from 8:00am-3:00pm daily.

Splashdown Pond Skim
Springalicious will feature its signature SPLASHDOWN Pond Skimming Competition Sunday, April 10th.  Steamboat’s bravest (and maybe craziest) skiers/riders will attempt to cross an ice-cold pond at the base of the mountain, while being judged on distance, outfit creativity, and crowd response.

First Friday Art Walk
Join us the First Friday of every month for a self-guided art walk of new exhibitions at participating members.

Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup
More than 500 Mustang owners from Rocky Mountain Mustang clubs convene in Steamboat Springs over Father's Day Weekend. Activities include a scenic mountain tour, auto cross, Friday night social, Show n' Shine Car Show and awards breakfast. Spectators are welcome at the Meadows parking lot located at the corner of Mt. Werner Road and Pine Grove Road for Friday's Autocross. Over 180 Ford Mustangs compete in this timed event. Saturday's Show n' Shine is a car lovers dream located in downtown Steamboat Springs

Tour de Steamboat
The Tour de Steamboat is a century+ non competitive road ride in Steamboat. The benefit ride supports the Sunshine Kids Foundation's Winter Olympics held annually on the slopes of Steamboat Ski Resort.

Hot Air Balloon Rodeo
Start your day at Bald Eagle Lake for a spectacular early-morning affair as you watch over 40 hot air balloons rise softly from the mist and drift over the Yampa Valley. Afterwards make your way over to West Lincoln Park for Steamboat's biggest arts and crafts festival.

Annual Routt County Fair
When it comes to history and tradition, few entities in Routt County can compare with the Routt County Fair. Before there was a ski mountain, condos, vacation homes, youth baseball tournaments, mountain biking, and kayaking, there were men and women who came to Routt County to carve livings out of this rough, mountainous terrain. They farmed, ranched, and laid the foundations for the communities we enjoy today. The fair rightfully honors the agriculture heritage and traditions of those settlers.

The Steamboat Springs Triathalon
This full Olympic Distance event (1.5k Swim, 40k Bike, 10k Run) is the 3rd stop on the new Colorado Triathlon Tour! This course and venue are a dream come true and offer everything you could want as a first time triathlete or experienced veteran.

Steamboat Springs Running Series
The Steamboat Springs Running Series includes a variety of challenge and fun runs from 400 yards to 50 miles over some of Colorado's most spectacular terrain! Run through snow, creeks, over rock, up ski hills and more.

Downtown Halloween Stroll
Come downtown for safe trick-or-treating at this decades long annual event. For more than 30 years, this is the place to see and be seen on Halloween. See or wear elaborate costumes, meet the candidates, and help support the local charities. This is a true community event not to be missed.

Billy Kidd All-Mountain Ski Camps
A World Champion and Olympic silver medalist, Kidd applies the same principles and techniques that produce World Champions to a skiing improvement program for skiers of all ages. Today his vision continues, providing intermediate and advanced skiers access to the top training techniques in ski racing, plus Billy’s unique experience, enthusiasm and expertise are active parts of the program.
